Thiruma tears into Vijay, calls his Karur remark “politically insincere”
Thiruma further advised Vijay to “think independently and speak his mind” if he wished to have a meaningful political future, warning that otherwise he would “face the music.”;

CHENNAI: VCK chief Thol Thirumavalavan threw pointed questions at the DMK government here on Thursday, asking what was preventing the Tamil Nadu police from booking TVK president and actor Vijay for the Karur stampede in which 41 people were killed, and who was the Tamil Nadu government afraid of.
Speaking to reporters, Thirumavalavan said, Vijay has been declaring that the BJP is the ideological enemy but the ‘enemy’ has volunteered to save him. Union ministers Nirmala Sitharaman and L Murugan, and a delegation of parliamentarians headed by MP Hema Malini rushed to Karur and then asked the Tamil Nadu government to take responsibility for the incident. They turned the entire episode on its head and called it a total failure of the district administration.
“Why is the BJP trying to save Vijay who had declared the party as an ideological enemy? We suspect there is a conspiracy, and Vijay has been acting as a tool for the BJP, which has been trying to create political instability in Tamil Nadu,” Thiruma charged.
He also charged that the BJP is trying to gain a foothold in TN by diverting DMK’s minority votes and weakening the party.
Slamming the Tamil Nadu police for their ‘bias’, Thiruma pointed out that a case was booked against the TVK general secretary N Anand but they spared Vijay, Arun Raj and Aadhav Arjunan. “If there was a reason to book Anand, then wouldn’t the same reason apply to Vijay and other core members who planned and managed the event? Who is preventing them from booking Vijay?" Thiruma asked.
“The TVK has been claiming there is an underground dealing between the BJP and the DMK, but now, can we claim there is a dealing between the DMK and the TVK?" he further asked.
Thiruma also accused Vijay of attempting to make political gain over the tragedy. “He doesn’t seem to regret the incident. He hasn’t made a statement from his heart and continues to target the CM,” he said.
Thiruma claimed that Vijay released a video-message days after the stampede only when the BJP and the RSS nudged him to do so. “He has no love for his fans,” he added.
