CHENNAI: Four flight services were cancelled in the Chennai airport for administrative reasons on Tuesday.

The British Airways flight would usually arrive in Chennai from London at 3.30 am and then depart back to London at 5.30 am. On Tuesday, the arrival and departure of the flight were cancelled.

More than 300 passengers who were about to board the flight from Chennai were affected. The flight is usually full on all days as passengers who travel to France, The Netherlands, Scotland, and Sweden, also use the flight service. Though the airline had given prior information to passengers about the cancellation, some did not receive the message, and they arrived at the airport and left after enquiring at the counter.

The Chennai-Thoothukudi flight was also cancelled on Tuesday. The SpiceJet flight service to Thoothukudi, which was started on March 30, would depart from Chennai at 6 am, and would return to the city at 1.45 pm. On Tuesday, both services were cancelled.

The flight was cancelled on its third day due to administrative reasons, leaving passengers disappointed.
