CHENNAI: IndiGo is in the middle of a major schedule disruption, with over to 1000 flights cancelled since Tuesday. The airline is struggling to manage operations due to a shortage of crew and the rollout of revised duty-time norms.
As a result, passengers at key airports including Chennai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Kolkata are facing long waits, packed terminals and increased last-minute fares. Check Flight Status: Visit IndiGo’s website or mobile app and use the ‘Manage Booking’ option with your PNR to see if your flight has been cancelled or rescheduled.
Choose Your Option: You can opt for a full refund or rebook yourself on the next available IndiGo flight at no additional charge.
Request a Refund: Submit your PNR, email ID, and passenger details on the airline’s refund page to initiate processing.

Refunds are usually credited back to the original payment method within 5–7 business days.
Cash bookings: Travellers must visit an IndiGo airport ticket counter with their ID and ticket to claim the refund.

35 IndiGo flights cancelled at Ahmedabad airport
- As many as 35 flights of IndiGo scheduled for departure from the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad were cancelled on Saturday, escalating the woes of stranded passengers hit by the double whammy of travel uncertainty and alleged lack of basic facilities.
- In a partial relief for passengers travelling from the Rajkot airport, only one IndiGo flight -- for Mumbai -- was cancelled, while seven flights for Delhi, Mumbai, Goa, Hyderabad and Bengaluru operated, officials said.
- An Ahmedabad Airport official stated that a total of 72 6E flights of IndiGo Airlines, scheduled for arrival and departure between 12:01 am and 11:59 pm, were cancelled on Saturday, including 35 departure and 37 arrival flights.

Union Government asks IndiGo to complete refund process for cancelled flights by Sunday evening
NEW DELHI: With IndiGo’s disruptions affecting thousands, the civil aviation ministry on Saturday ordered the airline to complete all ticket refunds for cancelled flights by 8 p.m. on Sunday and deliver any separated baggage within 48 hours. After more than 1,000 cancellations on Friday and over 400 on Saturday, the ministry warned that any delay or non-compliance would trigger regulatory action. Airlines have been told not to charge rescheduling fees, while IndiGo must set up dedicated support and refund facilitation cells to proactively assist passengers and ensure automatic refunds until operations stabilise.

IndiGo resumes partial operations at Chennai airport; 48 flights cancelled today
CHENNAI: IndiGo resumed partial services at Chennai airport early Sunday after suspending all flights on Saturday afternoon due to a nationwide shortage of cockpit and cabin crew, but full operations are yet to return. The first flight took off for Pune at 3 a.m., followed by departures to several cities, with the airline saying more services will be restored through the day. Despite this, IndiGo cancelled 48 flights — 28 departures and 20 arrivals — to and from Chennai, adding to four days of widespread disruption that left passengers stranded and terminals crowded. Govt working with full urgency to restore normalcy: MoS Mohol on IndiGo fiasco
NEW DELHI: As IndiGo faced its fifth straight day of disruptions, cancelling 405 domestic flights due to a severe pilot shortage, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Mridul Mohol said the government is working urgently to restore normalcy. He said the DGCA’s FDTL orders have been put in abeyance, a 24×7 control room has been set up, and a high-level inquiry has been ordered to determine what went wrong and ensure such disruptions aren’t repeated. Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu added that airlines must provide real-time updates, issue automatic refunds for cancellations, and offer hotel accommodation for stranded passengers, while Indian Railways is deploying 116 additional coaches across 37 premium trains to ease passenger distress.

Indigo flights chaos: SCR to run special trains to clear passenger rush
HYDERABAD: With large-scale IndiGo flight cancellations causing major disruptions and long queues at the airport, the South Central Railway on Saturday announced four special trains to clear the rush of passengers travelling from Hyderabad to Chennai, Mumbai and Shalimar. Airport sources said 43 outbound and 26 incoming IndiGo flights were cancelled, triggering anger among flyers, many of whom took to social media to complain about the lack of timely information. Southern Railways to provide additional coaches for express trains amid flight cancellations
CHENNAI: Southern Railway has announced additional AC three-tier coaches on select express trains to support passengers affected by IndiGo flight cancellations. On December 6, extra coaches will be attached to Train No. 12695 Chennai Central–Thiruvananthapuram, Train No. 12601 Chennai Central–Mangaluru Central, and Train No. 22158 Chennai Beach–Mumbai CST. On December 7, Train No. 22157 Mumbai CST–Chennai Beach and Train No. 12696 Thiruvananthapuram–Chennai Central will get additional coaches. Train No. 20481 Jodhpur–Tiruchchirappalli Humsafar Express will also receive an extra AC three-tier coach on December 10.

Flight disruptions trigger extra rush, SR to operate special trains in Chennai
CHENNAI: To handle the surge in passengers following flight disruptions, Southern Railway has announced several special trains from Chennai. These include the Secunderabad–Chennai Egmore Express Special (Train No. 07146) departing Secunderabad at 6.40 p.m. on Saturday and its return service (07147) leaving Chennai Egmore at 12.30 p.m. on Sunday. The Chennai Egmore–Charlapalli Express Special (06019) will leave at 11.55 p.m. on Saturday, with the return train (06020) departing Charlapalli at 6 p.m. on Sunday. On Sunday, Train No. 06255 KSR Bengaluru–Chennai Egmore and Train No. 06256 Chennai Egmore–KSR Bengaluru will operate, while on Monday Train No. 06257 KSR Bengaluru–Dr MGR Chennai Central and Train No. 06258 Dr MGR Chennai Central–KSR Bengaluru will run. Southern Railway said advance reservations for these special services will open shortly.
