Chennai's Chepauk Stadium receives bomb threat via email, warns against hosting IPL matches
TNCA authorities alerted the Triplicane police about the threat mail after which BDDS personnel conducted a preliminary check at the stadium

CHENNAI: City police are probing a bomb threat issued to the MA Chidambaram cricket stadium at Chepauk. The threat was issued through email to Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA), police sources said.
Police sources said that the sender's email id contained the word Pakistan and the sender had claimed that the bomb would explode in retaliation for Operation Sindoor and also called for no further IPL matches to be conducted at the stadium.

Meanwhile, speaking on the sidelines of the passing out parade of Home Guard volunteers, Chennai Police Commissioner A Arun said that the city police has increased vigil at strategic locations and in places of public gathering in light of tensions between India and Pakistan
In addition, surveillance will also be ramped up and vehicle checking measures will be intensified, Commissioner Arun said.
