IPL 2025 suspended as military tensions escalate between India and Pakistan
Amid growing tensions between the neighbouring countries, reports suggest that overseas players have opted to leave, with most of the Australian contingent departing India on Saturday.

CHENNAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to suspend the Indian Premier League (IPL) for one week due to safety concerns for players and spectators, following Pakistan's escalating missile attacks on Indian cities since Thursday night.
The situation also forced the Punjab Kings (PBKS) vs Delhi Capitals (DC) match at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamshala to be called off at the halfway stage.
The board reached this decision after reviewing the current situation with the Government of India.
Meanwhile, a special train has been arranged to evacuate both Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals players and support staff members, match officials, commentators, broadcast crew members and other key personnel associated with IPL 2025, and get them to a safe place.

The incident occurred as Indian forces retaliated against Pakistan’s barrage of attacks across the Jammu and Poonch regions.
