Govt working with full urgency to restore normalcy: MoS Mohol on IndiGo fiasco

NEW DELHI: As IndiGo faced its fifth straight day of disruptions, cancelling 405 domestic flights due to a severe pilot shortage, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Mridul Mohol said the government is working urgently to restore normalcy. He said the DGCA’s FDTL orders have been put in abeyance, a 24×7 control room has been set up, and a high-level inquiry has been ordered to determine what went wrong and ensure such disruptions aren’t repeated. Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu added that airlines must provide real-time updates, issue automatic refunds for cancellations, and offer hotel accommodation for stranded passengers, while Indian Railways is deploying 116 additional coaches across 37 premium trains to ease passenger distress.
