The CCB team arrested Muhammed Arif, a resident of Mannarsamy Koil Street, Pulianthoppu based on a complaint filed by one Sanjeev Kumar Raghav, head of the anti-piracy wing of S Chand and Company Private Limited, New Delhi.

Sanjeev Kumar Raghav had given a complaint to the city commissioner of police alleging that duplicate copies of books on competitive examinations published by his company, were being been sold in Moor Market. CCB then registered a case and started the investigation.

They found out that Muhammed Arif arranged for duplicate copies of the books published by S Chand and Company through agents in Bangalore and kept them at his godown inside Moor Market. He then sold these books through the shops.

A team from the CCB video piracy cell raided the godown and recovered 525 books, all in the name of S Chand and Company, worth around Rs. 5 lakh. Muhammed Arif was later produced before the Magistrate court and has been remanded to judicial custody.
