    By Hand From The Heart will showcase many brands in art

    Chennai

    Well, do make time and visit the Makers Market of By Hand From The Heart. The 17th edition of the bi-annual event has about 40 participants who would be showcasing art, craft, jewellery, clothing, stationery and home décor. 

    “Every year we try and curate an interesting melange of brands that produce unique handcrafted products and are viable options to use at home or gift others. This year apart from the clothing, jewellery and home décor brands, we also have quite a few stationery players. They have come with some really cool and exciting stuff,” says Deepa Sekar, one of the organisers of the event. 

    The Maker’s Market will be held on February 5 and 6 at Lalit Kala Akademi, Greams Road. Among other participants this year, the brands to watch out are: 

    Olie: 

    Based in Bengaluru, this brand by Amrita Nambiar brings luxurious, hand-crafted décor, accesssories to homes across the world. They have a collection of table linen, lamps, and cushion covers with motifs inspired by Amrita’s idyllic life in Puducherry. 

    The Malayalam Project: 

    The Malayalam project, based out of Cochin, aims to explore the nuances of language through a period of approximately 100 years, through examples of the written work of writers, poets and journalists. 

    Tiny Farm: 

    Tinyfarm is a design studio with paper and textile goods based out of Chennai. They specialise in stationery, invites (custom made) and home textiles. 

    Oritecture: 

    Started by Delhi-based landscape architect Ankon Mitra, it makes use of the Japanese art of Origami to make furniture, lighting, installations.
