67th Cardiological Society of India conference from today
The 67th annual convention of the Cardiological Society of India will kick off in the city on Wednesday at the Chennai Trade Centre

The 67th annual convention of the Cardiological Society of India, that will see more than 4,000 specialists in the field from India participating will be held till February 13, covering all the aspects of the speciality.
Talking about the event, Professor M Somasundaram, Associate Professor of Cardiology, MMC and Cardiologist Government General Hospital and member of the society, says, “The event will cover all the aspects from imaging to prevention and therapy.
Pioneers in the field will share their expertise for the benefit of Indian cardiologists participating in the meet.” Dr Somasundaram adds that the Indian specialists will present the regional perspective of the cardiac scenario in the country.
Apart from Indian specialists, there will be five experts from the American Heart Association and European Society of Cardiologists, apart from participating doctors from SAARC and ASEAN countries. Two experts from the field Dr M Khalilullah and Dr AB Mehta will be given the lifetime achievement award at the event.
The society is the third largest association of doctors, after the US and European associations. Every year, the meet is held in one of the Indian metros. The next meet is scheduled to be held in Kochi.
