Which statement jewellery pieces will be in vogue in 2016?

More innovative jewellery that is trendy and adventurous. Women today want to experiment. They want pieces that make them stand out, not blend with the crowd. So I see a revival of age‐old jewellery with a twist that can be worn in a more contemporary manner over both Indian and western wear. Many of us have heirloom jewellery passed down through generations.

Do you feel it is a good idea to reinvent them to suit modern sensibilities?

The jewellery that is passed down generations are timeless pieces and have beautiful designs. We just need to give it our personal touch to suit our individual styles or an even better idea is keeping the jewellery same and styling it differently with our dressing style. For instance, a classic polki set looks usual with a saree but the moment we style it with a solid colour jump suit or a dress, it sets a different mood all together. Share your experience of showcasing your collection in Chennai.

What are the interesting facets of your clients in the city?

Chennai is a beautiful city with even more beautiful people. Women, who love to dress up, are stylish, ready to experiment and are confident. It works for me as I love to design statement pieces for women who love themselves and love to be stylish.
