    ‘Re-allocation for SVS students valid’

    The re-allocation (special counselling) for students of the SVS Medical College of Yoga and Naturopathy, where three girls allegedly committed suicide, was held on Wednesday amid tension after the infuriated parents allegedly assaulted the college cashier who was present on the occasion

    The re-allocation of seats event was held at the Directorate of Indian Medicine and Homeopathy the city when the parents attacked the college cashier and police intervened in time to save her.

    As announced earlier by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, the re-allocation for the 136 students began after the students were informed about the move through registered post. Addressing mediapersons, Selection Committee Secretary S S Ravichandran said the re-allocation was happening only for students studying Yoga and Naturopathy.

    Students who did not receive the call letters but who are registered with the Dr MGR Medical University were also allowed to appear for the re-allotment. Once the documents are verified, students will be given seats in the government college in Chennai. 

    Asked about re-allocation for Homeopathy students, the Secretary said the letter has been sent to the Central Council of Homeopathy.
