Couples set a date with charity

Sharing the love and joy is a big part of celebrations this Valentine’s. Ishika Sachdev, city-based beauty blogger and boyfriend Abhinav, believe in giving back to the society in their own little way. 

“We will be visiting the Sai Baba temple in Mylapore and providing food for the homeless. This is something we do as a family almost twice a month, but doing this for Valentine’s Day is something we would cherish forever. There is a lady in the temple who is suffering from severe diabetes. My family and I share a special bond with her. We provide her with regular medication to counter her illness. Spending time with her will make our Valentine’s Day extra special,” says Ishika. 

Chennai city is slowly getting back on its feet after the devastating floods last year. Many, actively took part in relief measures and are committed to the cause even today. Actor Abhinay Vaddi, who made his acting debut in the 2014 biopic Ra manujan, along with this wife Aparna dedicated a lot of time, working towards rehabilitation of families in and around Saidapet. This Valentine’s Day, Abhinay and Aparna will be spending time with the families, who are still in dire need for help. 

“Aparna and I usually catch-up with friends and family on Valentine’s. But this time we have decided to visit the flood-affected families with some food and other supplies. We have been working with families near Saidapet, helping them with daily supplies. Although things have improved quite a bit, there is a lot more to be done. We need to rebuild their homes, especially the families living next to Cooum river. So, this Valentine’s Day will be very close to our hearts,” says Abhinay.
