DMK asks for ban on Karunanidhi caricature
A cartoon allegedly circulated by an AIADMK youth leader that depicts the DMK Chief in a derogatory manner has upset the Opposition party that has demanded for a ban on the same

Chennai
The DMK’s Organisation Secretary RS Bharathi on Monday lodged a complaint with the city Commissioner of Police seeking action against an AIADMK youth leader for circulating a poster cartoon, allegedly insulting the DMK’s party chief M Karunanidhi.
Bharathi said that the poster that has been pasted on walls in several areas in Chennai, depicted Karunanidhi planting a kiss on the logo of a vernacular magazine with a derogatory caption.
The complainant alleged that SP Aravindan, who claims to be the town secretary of AIADMK’s student wing of Kathivakkam, in Tiruvottiyur division, had allegedly published this defaming poster aimed at maligning the DMK chief. He said the poster had upset Karuna’s supporters and might lead to law and order issues.
The complainant requested the Commissioner to ban the poster and to initiate action against the perpetrator of this campaign. RS Bharathi also sought action against those behind the derogatory posts against the party chief.
