    The state government on Sunday announced new transfers and promotions in the police department.

    Santhosh Kumar, SP, Tamil Nadu Commando Force, has been promoted as Deputy Inspector General of Police and posted as Joint Commissioner of Police, West Zone, Greater Chennai Police. Najmal Hoda, who was serving as JC, West Zone, has been transferred and posted as DIG, Kancheepuram range. S Paneer Selvam, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Chennai West, has been promoted as DIG and posted in the Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board. 

    G Karthikeyan, SP/ Principal of Police Training College, has been promoted and posted as DIG, Dindigul range in the existing vacancy. R Dinakaran, who was JC of North zone, Chennai, has been transferred and posted as DIG, Tirunelveli range. T S Anbu, who was holding charge as DIG Tirunelveli, has been transferred and posted as JC, Chennai South zone. 

    A Arun, JC, South zone, Chennai, has been transferred and posted as DIG Tiruchirappalli range in the existing vacancy. P Nagarajan, JC Traffic, South Chennai has been transferred and posted as DIG Salem range. Vidya Jayant Kulkarni, who was serving as DIG, Salem, has been transferred and posted as DIG, Crime Branch CID, Chennai, in the existing vacancy. 

    A Kayalvizhi, SP, Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board, has been transferred and posted as SP/Chief Security Officer, Chennai Metro Rail Limited. K Bhavaneeshwari, who was hitherto holding charge of Chief Security Officer, Chennai Metro Rail, has been promoted and posted as JC, Traffic, Chennai South. Rupesh Kumar Meena, SP, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption has been transferred and posted as deputy commissioner, Anna Nagar, Chennai in place of Joshi Nirmal Kumar, who has been transferred and posted as JC, North zone, Chennai. 

    S Kapil Kumar Saratkar, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Special Protection Group, New Delhi, has been promoted as DIG without prejudice to his deputation with Government of India. Similarly, N Kannan, first secretary, Embassy of India, Kathmandu, Nepal, has been promoted as DIG. P C Thenmozhi, SP, Economic Offences Wing, CBI has also been promoted as DIG without affecting her deputation.
