The bomb squad was pushed into service after a man in an inebriated condition called  the Rajiv Gandhi Hospital around 2 am on Sunday and told them that bombs have been planted inside both the hospitals. The information was passed on to the city police and the bomb detection and disposal squads along with sniffer dogs rushed to these hospitals and started sweeping the premises.

The teams carefully search both the blocks at Chrompet Government Hospital but could not find any traces of a bomb.

The team at Rajiv Gandhi Memorial hospital had to search the premises till Sunday morning as each block had five floors and they could not leave any stone unturned.

“We did not find any explosives and declared the call a hoax. We need to take strong action against such miscreants as they waste our time and create unnecessary scare amongst the public. On Sunday’s incident we had to disturb patients at the hospital and struggled to keep them under control,” a police official said.
