The Madras High Court has called upon the State government to issue necessary Government Orders sanctioning adequate funds for extending CISF security to the Madras High Court as well as its bench in Madurai.

Chennai
The first bench, comprising Chief Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and MM Sundresan, said the status report filed by the registrar-general shows that the proposal sent to the government for sanction of funds has resulted only in partial action.
Also taking into account the additional solicitor-general’s submission that the funding is only upto May 2016, when the six-month period expires, the bench said “for the time being we are of the view the deployment of CISF is required to be extended till all processes are over. Necessary action in this behalf should be taken.
The bench also recorded the submission of MHAA president RC Paul Kanagaraj, that in some of the entry points, there is no scanning machine, and physical check of baggage and purse has to be done and sought the state to consider his proposal of deploying any machines with the Government until new machines are purchased. The case has been listed to March 30 for further hearing.
