KJK to align with PMK
Kongunadu Jananayaka Katchi (KJK), a regional party based in Coimbatore, has extended its support to the PMK, which has fielded Anbumani Ramadoss as its chief ministerial candidate, and has sought to forge an alliance to put an end to bipolar politics in the state.

Founder President of KJK G K Nagaraj told DTNext over phone that both the PMK and the KJK share common ideals such as total prohibition and farmers’ welfare among others. “We both have shared dais on a few occasions such as struggle against GAIL pipeline and demand for total prohibition,” he said and added that now it was time for them to face the elections together.
Refuting the charge that both PMK and KJK are casteist parties, he said that such allegations are levelled against them to gain political advantage by the so- called ‘caste neutral’ parties.
To clear its name from being branded as casteist, KJK has also planned to field Dalit candidates in the election.
Claiming that the PMK-led alliance is the real alternative to the bipolar politics in the state, he also took a dint at the DMDK-PWF alliance saying that the five party combine cannot be an alternative. “In fact, PMK is the forerunner in propagating alternate politics much before PWF came into existence,” he said.
KJK seeking about 15 seats has formed a committee to discuss seat sharing with PMK. “We have submitted our preferred list of constituencies,” he added.
