BJP State unit President Tamilisai Soundararajan said “We assure the people the State that if voted to power, we will extend the good governance being provided at the Centre to Tamil Nadu also.” She said Modi and senior leaders of the party would be visiting the State to address rallies and seek votes for the party. “People are keen for a change and BJP is getting stronger day by day,” she said.

Asked if the newly-floated Makkal DMDK by the rebel leaders of DMDK have any impact in the elections, she said, “I strongly believe Vijayakanth’s DMDK has lost its significance after it chose to align with the PWF. I believe its rebel group will make no impact”, she added. “Had the DMDK chose to remain in the NDA, it would have been seen as a strong force,” she said.

On the alliance, she said the BJP had completed the talks with its alliance partners and the process of identification of constituencies was on.  An announcement would be made at the right time. On DMK’s manifesto, Ms Tamizhisai said “They (DMK) were given several opportunities in the past to rule the State. They failed to deliver and so the electorate will not be taking their poll promises seriously this time.”
