Chennai
Are you looking for an avenue to creatively engage your child and bring out the best in him or her this summer? A new workshop conducted by IIT-M along with AidVision (1985 alumni network) gives you a great opportunity to do so.
The latter has sponsored various initiatives for mentoring and developing young minds over the years. Prof. Sivakumar Srinivasan, Dean (students) at IIT-M and a senior professor of Applied Mechanics at the institute will lead the initiative. He says, “We need to nurture skills of children early. We also felt that parents should be involved in this initiative so that they get engaged in nurturing imagination of children and guide them.”
The workshop includes interactive classroom-based sessions on aspects of creativity, imagination and curiosity. Videos, discussions, activities and practical exercises make the sessions enjoyable for all.The workshop will be followed by a 30-day daily exercise for the parents in which they have to practice whatever has been taught at the workshop with their children. This is based on the principle that anything practiced consistently for 30 days becomes a habit.
The organisers also conducted a workshop for three days in March at IIT Madras, for children along with their parents on ‘Discovering Imagination’.
Those interested in the work shop can email to aidvision1985@ gmail.com. Parents and children need to register for the workshop.
