Tell us a little about your organisation
Centre for Holistic Integrated Learning and Development (CHILD) was started to help parents of children with specific learning difficulties (Dyslexia). It aims at helping children and providing awareness and training programmes for both parents and teachers. The services also include educational therapy for children, dynamic assessments for identification and counselling services for parents and children.
What are the areas that the workshop is focusing on?
This training is basically to disseminate the different remedial methodologies used to help children with learning disabilities. Understanding Learning difficulties helps teachers to identify the strength and weaknesses of children in learning. Tapping their potential is one way to reach them and correct their deficiencies.
What are the objectives?
Our mission is ‘No Child is left behind’. Our Remedial Tutor Training Program equips teachers with an understanding of learning disabilities and the role of mediation. The other aspects of the programme are reading, spelling, fundamentals in sentence writing, math, comprehension, brain gym and super brain yoga and Understanding ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). We are targeting parents, teachers, professionals or any one working with dyslexic children.
