TNelectionsCEO announces the winners with their Twitter handles mentioned in a poster

The election related online quiz contest was launched on March 28 with a tweet from @TNelectionsCEO, with a simple question: In which year was the voting age reduced from 21 to 18 years and how? Also it carried a tagline promising a surprise gift for early bird answers.

From then on, Twitter users have been using the Twitter handle @TNelectionsCEO and answers are pouring in every day for the different questions being asked. The Election Commission rewards the first three respondents who give the correct answers. Jayachandran, one of the winners of the contest, said, “I’m delighted to participate in the contest and am so happy to see my name as a winner.”

Jayachandran said the luck played a major part in the contest as Twitterati wouldn’t know exactly when the question would be posted online.

“Only when you happen to be on Twitter when the question is posted and chance upon the question, you stand a chance to become one of the first three respondents,” he said. Jayachandran got his surprise gift from the Tamil Nadu CEO, a tea mug which had ‘#TN100percent and May 16: Vote without fail’ printed on it.

Followers of the TNEQ also felt that the questions were getting tougher by the day, thanks to the increasing number of participants. ‘What was the percentage of female electors voted in 2011 TN elections?’ was among other questions asked as part of the quiz.
