Top Brit diplomat on maiden visit to Chennai
Sir Dominic Asquith KCMG, the new British High Commissioner to India will be on his first official visit to Tamil Nadu.

Ahead of his visit, Sir Dominic said, “I am delighted to visit Chennai this week, just five weeks into my posting. The British connection with this city stretches back nearly 380 years. I know UK companies in Chennai directly employ over 50,000 people. I look forward to deepening that relationship over the next four years.”
In Chennai, Sir Dominic is expected to meet His Excellency the Governor of Tamil Nadu, Dr K Rosaiah, senior government officials and representatives of Indian and UK businesses. Sir Dominic presented his credentials to the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee at a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan on April 4 , 2016. During a wide and varied career around the world, Sir Dominic has served as Ambassador to Libya, Cairo and Baghdad and most recently, in senior roles in the private sector.
