Talking to reporters at the airport here on Friday, she said the Global Investors’ Meet was successful only because of the joint efforts of the State and the Central governments.
Nirmala Seetharaman is the second union minister to say that she had no problem in getting access to the chief minister after her senior cabinet colleague M Venkaiah Naidu made a similar statement.
The remarks of Venkaiah Naidu and Nirmala Seetharaman contradicts Union Ministers Piyush Goyal and Prakash Javadekar critical remarks that the chief minister was inaccessible.
Nirmala later participated in a roadshow of the BJP in connection with the May 16 Assembly elections and campaigned for the party candidate Kalidas at Saidapet Assembly constituency in the city.
Talking to reporters after accompanying him in filing the nomination papers and canvassing votes for him, she said "people want a party that will make the state prosperous and help in its growth."
Stating that people were dissatisfied with the regional parties, she said only the BJP had the strength to win over people’s mind.
