Justice R. Mala before whom the Criminal Original Petition moved by the boy’s mother came up recently, directed the production of all records before June 11.

R Selvi, a widow, has submitted that when she was away selling flowers in Kolathur, some persons entered her house, and after threatening her son at knife point escaped with Rs. 50,000 kept in a cupboard. After a strenuous effort, the Pallikaranai police registered a case but refused to arrest the three persons his son had identified as being behind the robbery.

She contended that thereafter the accused started threatening her boy with dire consequences if he persisted with their identity.

In the meanwhile, her son who had gone to school on January 10, 2015, failed to return. A complaint to Pallikaranai police, resulted in a ‘boy missing’ case being registered. On Jan. 12, the Police found the body of her son nearby Pallikaranai lake.

Alleging that her son was murdered, she submitted that the failure of the police to probe her boy’s death prompted her to approach the State Human Rights Commission and the Commissioner of Police.
