National leaders pep up BJP campaign in Tamil Nadu
In a bid to win more number of seats other than the winnable three constituencies of Kanniyakumari, Coimbatore South and Vedaranyam, BJP took a ‘Dasavatharam’ on the penultimate day of campaign in Tamil Nadu.

Chennai
On Thursday, the national party deployed 10 national leaders, including nine union ministers.
A majority of the parties that joined BJP-led NDA for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, walked out of the alliance later to set their own agenda in Tamil Nadu.
The party had even gone to the extent of sending heavyweights like Rajnath Singh, Venkaiah Naidu, Ravishankar Prasad, Smriti Irani and Nitin Gadkari to the state to campaign for their candidates.
However, there were also some ‘not-so-popular’ faces like Sadhvi Niranjan Jyothi and Shah Nawaz Hussain.
Similarly, some of the locations where the party is not that strong, chosen for campaign for this 10-member brigade shows that the BJP is firm in proving that it is a strong force in the state.
“The whole plan is to win a considerable number of seats and thereby send out a message to the allies who quit the NDA,” said a State-level functionary of the BJP.
Talking to DT Next State BJP chief Tamilisai Soundararajan said, “We expect to do well in Chennai and Ramanathapuram mainly, though we see signs of change in many parts of TN.”
