Final voters lists for D-Day put up at polling booths
All arrangements have been made for the ensuing Assembly election in Tamil Nadu, Chief Electoral Officer Rajesh Lakhoni said on Friday.

Talking to reporters, the CEO said the campaign would come to a close at 6 pm on Saturday. He said once the campaign comes to an end, the media should not publish any advertisement or election-related matter about political parties or candidates as per rules and regulations.
Asked about the Met Office predicting rains in some places, including southern districts on the polling day, Lakhoni said all precautionary measures have been taken in this regard.
The polling would take place on May 16 from 7 am to 6 pm in about 66,000 polling booths across the state. A total of 5.82 crore electorate would decide the fate of 3,776 candidates in 234 assembly constituencies.
The Election Commission has launched various awareness campaigns on ethical voting and also to ensure 100 per cent polling. Of the 3,776 candidates, 320 were women and 1,566 Independents. The counting of votes would take place on May 19.
