In a message to the state voters on Saturday, he said the result of 50 years of the rule of the Dravidian parties was a setback to development and had earned the dubious distinction of being corrupt. “The hopes of every section of the society — youth, women, the depressed classes, students, farmers, minorities — have been dashed to the ground,” he added.
Starting his message with “I am Narendra Modi here...My humble pranams to you,” the prime minister said “for the past two years we have been providing a corruption-free and efficient government taking India on the path to development.”
“Not only that, the 11 BJP-ruled States are marching on likewise,” Modi said. Observing that his ardent desire was that Tamil Nadu should rise to the forefront, he said this was entirely in the hands of the youth of the state.
“To put a full stop to the politics of blame game and to usher in a corruption-free and efficient administration, BJP is the only hope,” Modi said. “To ensure that I request you all to go to the polling booth with your family members and vote for the ‘lotus’ symbol,” he said. He ended the message with the slogan, “You cast your vote for the lotus! In return I promise development for Tamil Nadu!”
Shah slams NR Congress government in Pondy:
Coming down heavily on the NR Congress government here, BJP president Amit shah on Saturday exhorted the people to reject a “non-functioning “NR Congress government and vote the BJP candidates to power to ensure the development of the Union Territory.
Addressing a public meeting here, Shah said that the BJP would provide jobs for youth and implement poor and people oriented schemes, announced by the Narendra Modi-led BJP government at the Centre.
He said the Union Territory of Puducherry was a small place and if it was ruled efficiently, it would have become a “paradise.”
