In Pallavaram, several Narikuravas from the nearby Narikurava colony came to the Cantonment Board High School and polled their votes after standing in the queue.

In fact, they rushed into the polling booth to cast their vote as they wanted to be one of the first to cast their votes. Sankar Prabhu, one of the Narikuravas, said that they had been casting their votes for several decades.
“We have been demanding the candidates, cutting across party lines, for a piece of land and a good house to live, but our dreams have remained as dreams for several years. We are hopeful that at least this time the party that comes to power will fulfil our demands,” he said. Venkatesh, a youngster from one of the Narikurava family, urged the state government to construct more schools for their children in the locality.
“We want to educate our children well and help them make a decent livelihood for which we want good schooling facility near our locality. We have placed this demand to the candidates who visited us and we are hopeful that they we will get good school and house at the earliest,” he said.
