Now, Anand has bought life insurance, Arun has earned Rs.500 and the insurance agent has made a sale. “Everybody involved is benefited through Spini. It is an online platform which connects buyers and sellers through referrals,” says Shankar G, the CEO of Spini, who along with Eddie Chau, and Chong-Kian Soh, co-founded the company with presence in Singapore and India. Launched in June 2015 Spini is now operational in Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi and Pune. 

The app has clocked 150,000+ users and has generated business leads worth 1000 crore and more. “Users can post their own needs or the needs of friends/colleagues etc in the categories of real estate rental/buying, interior decors, insurance, loans, wedding planners, wedding makeup, courses like Java, Oracle, animation, GRE, GMAT etc. 

Spini helps people earn money with useful information they come across.,” says Shankar, former sales professional.“I saw how difficult it was for salespersons to get qualified leads. On the other side there were people who had valuable information about buying needs but had no avenue to use those details. 

That’s how Spini was born to act as a bridge to convert information into sales leads.” Spini can be used by anyone starting right from college students to working professionals to home makers to retired persons. The founders plan to add more categories and cities. “We plan to bring the MSME community online and generate more business for them. We will also be expanding to other South Asian countries soon,” says Shankar.
