Tamilisai dares Congress to go it alone in Tamil Nadu local body polls
Accusing the Congress of managing to win a meagre eight seats in the May 16 Assembly poll despite aligning with DMK, BJP state unit president Tamilisai Soundararajan on Monday dared Congress to contest the upcoming local body polls alone and prove that they were stronger than BJP.

Talking to reporters here, she said the poll percentage of BJP has increased, despite not having any big alliance.
“Even after joining hands with DMK and contesting 41 seats, Congress was able to win only eight seats and in many places they did not even secure third place,” she added.
Slamming TNCC President EVKS Elangovan for his critical remarks about BJP’s performance in the election, she said the Congress party has no locus standi to talk about the BJP.
Tamilisai also dared the Congress to face the local body poll alone and prove that it has people’s support better than the BJP.
The newly launched Tamil website of the Prime Minister was screened at the party office on the occasion.
“On behalf of the State office we have sent a message to PM thanking him for launching the website in Tamil. This shows his (PM’s) interest for all States,” she added.
Tamilisai also urged the State government to look into the issue of the recent in prices of milk by private players.
“The sudden rise in price is affecting people, especially children and pregnant women. The government should step in and ensure that milk production is increased,” she added.
