Four of family commit suicide in Pudukkottai

According to sources, when neighbours of Kannan (65), realised that foul smell emanated from his house, they informed Ganesh Nagar police who rushed to the spot and broke open the door of the house. 

They found Kannan, his son Radhakrishnan (25) and daughter Abirami (22) hanging dead while Kannan’s wife Santhakumari (60) lay dead on the floor. The bodies were in a highly decomposed state. Neighbours said Kannan’s son Radhakrishnan was running a mobile phone service centre adjacent to the house. 

Kannan’s daughter Abirami who was married two years ago was living with them for the past one year owing to misunderstandings with her husband. Kannan was  dejected over the discord in Abirami’s married life. 

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. This is the second such case that is being reported in less than a month. It may be noted that on June 3, four members of a family were found hanging in their house near Palladam in Tirupur district. A hosiery businessman Thamaraikannan was among those who died.
