Man robbed of Rs 50 lakh worth of jewels at knifepoint
In a daring daylight robbery at Royapuram, a gang of three armed robbers tied up the owner of the jewellery shop in Adam Sahib Street, and robbed him at knife point on Friday.

Ramesh (50), son of Mahaveer Chand was alone when the gang walked into his shop. They reportedly made off with jewellery worth Rs. 50 lakhs and Rs 10 lakhs in cash. The armed gang then escaped from the busy street on two wheelers.
On receiving information of the crime, came to the spot and have retrieved around 6 clippings from the CCTV camera. Police said the faces of the men were visible as themen had not masked their faces. “Investigation is on and several special teams have been formed. We are examining the details in the CCTV footage and are conducting enquiries with eye witnesses,” they said.
The modus operandi is similar to a robbery that happened at a gold testing centre in Devaraj Muthali Street in Royapettah on January 1 and the modus operandi of the similar to the one on Friday.
