CM appoints spl officer to hear grivences of RK Nagar residents
In an effort to ensure faster redressal of grievances of people in her R K Nagar constituency, Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on Monday said a special officer would visit the constituency every week and receive petitions from them.

“I have ordered the special officer to go to Tondiarpet taluk office in R K Nagar constituency every Tuesday and be present there the whole day and receive petitions from the people,” she said in a statement. “The petitions will be brought to my notice (by the special officer) and appropriate action will be taken,” she said.
Outlining the grievance redressal mechanisms already in place, Jayalalithaa said the Chief Minister’s Cell functioning in the Secretariat receives petitions from the public. Besides, there are district-level public grievance cells. The government has also launched schemes like Amma call centres, to ensure quick response to people’s problems.
In addition to such initiatives, there are over 10,000 e-service centres which assists people to access government services in a hassle-free manner, she added. On June 6, Jayalalithaa in her maiden post poll thanksgiving visit to R K Nagar, which returned her to the Assembly for a second consecutive term, had vowed to make the constituency a model one in Tamil Nadu and to implement all her electoral promises in right earnest.
