Superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming flick Kabali has been the big buzz among the Tamil diaspora across the globe. Be it the teaser or the Neruppu Da song, Kabali hashtags have been trending on social media for over a month. Now, the Kabali fever has taken wings with Air Asia India’s first-of-its kind initiative.
The carrier’s i5 airliner has been emblazoned with Rajinikanth’s posters from the movie. Talking about the initiative, Amar Abrol, CEO, AirAsia India says, “We are excited to partner with one of the most-anticipated movies of the year. This is our way of paying a tribute to the one and only Superstar in the country.”
The aircraft will also fly across New Delhi, Goa, Pune, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Guwahati, Imphal, Visakapatnam and Kochi apart from the south Indian cities of Chennai and Bengaluru. “We have also arranged a special flight from Bengaluru to Chennai for the First Day First Show.” Guests will be served a special Kabali -themed menu on board.
Sesha Parthasarathy, a die-hard Rajini fan from Bengaluru, said, “Over the years, there has been a lot of tributes for our Thalaivar. Now, that has taken a different route. I can’t wait to book my tickets to watch the movie in Chennai along with other superstar loyalists. As of now, I am waiting for the release date to be announced.”
Kalaipuli S Thanu, the producer of Kabali is as excited as his fans to see his movie posters flying high. “What else could we ask for. Never in the history of India cinema, have I seen an airline dedicating an aircraft to a movie. Only a Superstar like Rajinikanth comands such popularity and fame breaking barriers of age and geography. We are thrilled beyond words to see such excitement surrounding the movie, from the fans and brands that have associated with us. We look forward to seeing the reactions of our fans once the movie releases,” he said. The festival for Rajinikanth loyalists will begin as soon as the movie release date is announced.
