‘Tamil Nadu police have proved it again’

“The last five days had been extremely exhausting, as we had to spend almost 15 hours every day with the Tamil Nadu police, but looking at the cops struggling even harder to solve the murder case, our struggles meant nothing. Some of the best police officers had been handpicked for this case and their only focus was to nab the murderer.”

Many of the Investigating officers took this crime as a personal insult and one of them told me: “This is a brutal murder of an unarmed girl. We have to nab him at any cost, else the public will live in fear. It is no good a sign for working women.”

They gave time for the witnesses to have lunch or dinner, many of these officers spent the whole day on just a few cups of tea and coffee. At times I would leave their office late at night, but they continued to work for review meetings. And the next morning, they were ready for the next round of investigation. On July 1, when I saw the breaking news of the suspect having been arrested, I immediately sent an SMS to the officer I was working with to check if it was true. My phone beeped after a while and it read “Yes sir”. Kudos to Tamil Nadu Police!”
