Kabali is likely to release on July 22. Even before the release date is confirmed, fans have decided to go all out and celebrate. Last week Air Asia announced the launch of a special aircraft for Rajini fans to fly in it to watch the film’s premiere. Now fan groups and corporates are organising special screenings for themselves and their employees respectively. Freshdesk, a Chennai-based startup is planning to arrange a special screening for all its employees.

The startup founder Girish Mathrubootham is a self-confessed Rajinkanth fan and there is a Rajini caricature doodled in their office. The story goes that he had watched Enthiran a day before he founded the company and considers him a mascot of sorts.

“We organise screenings of every Rajini movie. For instance, we took around 300 employees of ours to Kochadaiiyaan and Lingaa. We plan to do the same for Kabali too. However, once the release dates are confirmed, we will make the bookings,” said a spokesperson from Freshdesk. For members of Rajini fan groups, the release is no less than a festival and they are doing everything to make the day special. “We are planning to arrange special shows.

We will book the entire theatre for Rajini fans. As of now, we have zeroed in on Kasi theatre,” says Karthik, a member of a Rajini fan club. Albert and Woodland threatres too are likely to be exclusively booked by fans. And there are others who have planned their leave and office timings accordingly. “I watched Lingaa at a 6 am show and I am eagerly waiting for Kabali as it brings back the 1980s charm of my favourite actor.

I plan to watch back-toback shows and take an off that day,” says Santhosh A, a bank employee. Fans plan to come prepared with garlands and milk packets for palabhishekam. They are also getting special Kabalithemed shirts printed to wear for the release. S. Mani, a fan says, “We have ordered shirts with Rajinikath’s Kabali look on it and we will wear it for the premiere.”
