Counter at city post office to provide eBay sellers a push
With an aim to provide sellers on eBay with a convenient option to deliver goods to online buyers, eBay India has partnered with India Post in 13 cities to open 17 dedicated counters for sellers across cities in India, including Chennai.

The opening of these counters has made the process faster for sellers to ship their parcels. The latest opening of the counter in Chennai has allowed the company’s entry into South India and will allow the sellers to undertake transactions on their platform with greater ease and convenience.
Navin Mistry, Head of Retail Exports, eBay India, says, “Chennai continues to be a key market from both a buyer and seller perspective. We have over 1,000 sellers from Chennai on our platform. Of the 5.2 million shoppers on ebay. in, eight percent buyers are based in Chennai. The city is amongst the top five e-commerce hubs in India we have witnessed a steady growth trajectory in the buyers from this market.”
A large volume of consumers from Chennai are now shopping for products in the lifestyle segment including perfumes, watches, beauty and health products amongst others, he said. Talking about similar tie ups of the company with government bodiess, Mistry said, “We intend to create an additional source of livelihood for Indian merchants by enabling both retail exports of Indian goods and widespread national trade. Our aim is to go to the grass-root level and empower small traders to connect with global eBay buyers.”
