Cops in soup for assaulting hotel waiter

The incident is said to have happened on the night on July 25 when two policemen, Arjunan, head constable, and Mandhaisami, police constable, went to a restaurant and had parotta for dinner. However, when the waiter Karithikeyan produced the bill, policemen refused to pay. The policemen assaulted the waiter when he asked them pay the bill apart from verbally harassed him. Following the incident, owner of the restaurant filed a complaint with Madurai Police Commissioner, Sailesh Kumar Yadav, through post. After verifying the CCTV footage of the hotel the Commissioner on Tuesday ordered suspension of Arjunan, Madhaisami, while subinspector Gunasekaran, who was witness to the incident, was transferred to Tiruparankundram.
