All set at Kudankulam Unit II
The recently dedicated second plant in Kudankulam will start its full scale power production at the end of this month, according to site director RS Sundar.

Talking to the media persons on the sidelines of a seminar in the city on Friday, he said the plant was producing 230 to 300 MW power on trial basis. It would start commercial production at this month end.
The plant awaited formal permission from the Nuclear Power Corporation of India to attain the full level of 1000 MW. As per the existing agreement, 562 MW would be made available to Tamil Nadu and the remaining power would be transmitted to other southern states. Telangana would get 50 MW.
Preliminary exploration work for the third and fourth power units of the nuclear complex had started.
