Cheating case against Senthil Balaji, 2 others
The Sivagangai District Crime Branch (DCB) has booked a cheating case against former transport minister Senthil Balaji and two others for allegedly cheating persons on the pretext of getting jobs in TNSTC.

Madurai
In 2015, Subbiah from Karaikudi, a TNSTC employee, collected Rs 60 lakh from 38 persons from Sivagangai and Pudukottai districts and paid Babu, former managing director of TNSTC at Sivagangai depot, who had promised jobs for them. Those who paid the amount received appointment orders. When the persons contacted the depot, they were told the orders were fake.
A complaint was filed against Subbiah in Pudukottai and Sivagangai districts and a cheating case was booked in Pudukottai. Subbiah filed a complaint to Pudukottai DCB in July, claiming that he had given Rs 60 lakh to Babu and the cash was routed to Senthil Balaji.
When Babu retired, Rangarajan, took charge as MD. When Rangarajan was approached, he too assured that those who gave money would be given jobs. As no one was given a job, he too was booked. The amount should be recovered from all the three, Subbiah demanded.
However, the cops refused to book against Senthil Balaji. Then, Subbiah moved the Madras High Court (Madurai Bench) and the next hearing is scheduled on August 23. Sivagangai police have booked a case against the trio under Sections 406, 420, 468 and 120 B of IPC to avoid the wrath of the judiciary.
