Stuck RBI cash trucks resume journey
Even before the mystery of cash-laden trucks seizure during the Assembly elections were unravelled, two trucks carrying several crores of rupees belonging to the RBI were stationed at Kallikudi near Thirumangalam in Madurai district, on Sunday.

Police claimed that one of the lorries broke down and hence they were parked here.
Two trucks laden with cash were on their way to Tiruvananathapuram from Mysuru on NH-7 accompanied by a jeep and a car. When they neared Kallikudi on Sunday morning the crew had stopped to refresh. The lorries were parked in an empty space next to a tea shop. After the entourage had tea they tried to start the vehicles but one of the lorries experienced strating trouble.
Immediately the commandos who accompanied the lorry surrounded the trucks and provided security. This triggered tension in the area. On information, the Tirumangalam DSP Sankar reached the spot and extended security cover for the stationed cash trucks. After repairs the vehicles left around noon.
