Replying to a special mention from AIADMK member A Anbazhagan during zero hour, he said that it has been only 90 days since the present government took charge and reiterated that it would not support corruption.

Tabling his special mention in the house, Anbazhagan said the government is providing Rs 635 crore to public sector undertakings every year. “But except one or two, others are showing heavy loss. PAPSCO gave a sum of Rs 30 crore to those who supplied liquor, vegetable and crackers. The entire commodities received were sold out and no one knows where the money has gone. Apart from this, another Rs 10 crore is to be paid towards salary to the employees,” he said. Stating that this is a sort of “looting” of public fund, Anbazhagan demanded a CBI probe. He said that accounts were not maintained and auditing was not done in PAPSCO in the last four years.

Anbazhagan wanted an inquiry immediately and to name the official in the house, but Minister Kandasamy said it would be announced after consulting the Chief Minister. To this, Speaker V Vaithilingam said an inquiry should be ordered within 15 days.

Replying to another special mention from AIADMK member Vaiyyapuri Manikandan, Narayanasamy said a thorough enquiry would be conducted into the alleged irregularities in the Food and Drug Control Department.

He also announced that the monsoon session of the Puducherry Assembly will be held in Karaikal as per the request of members of various political parties.
