The Deputy Commissioner and Executive Officer of the temple K Chelladurai said an advisory board has been kept near the tank advising the devotees to keep away from the tank.

It maybe recalled that the large number of fish in the tank were found floating dead on Saturday. Water samples have been sent for clinical analysis to find out whether it was poisoned by miscreants.

He said the temple administration has informed the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board and the Department of Fisheries about it.

Meanwhile, the district administration ordered a detailed investigation into the incident. Stern action will be taken against the perpetrators, District Collector K Veera Raghava Rao said.
