2 petrol bomb attacks target Munnani men
An unknown gang, targeting two Hindu Munnani leaders here, threw petrol bombs and fled. They flung the bombs at one of the leader’s house and at a bus of another leader early on Sunday. However, none of the office-bearers were hurt in the attempts.

Some of the bombs were hurled at the outfit’s Vellore divisional in-charge Mahesh’s house and the bus belongs to Vellore city deputy secretary of the outfit T.K.T. Srinivasan.
Police sources said, “Hearing unusual sounds outside his house Mahesh and his armed security guard got up and found that a group of unknown persons were standing with deadly weapons and petrol bombs. The security officer acted swiftly and alerted the police. The police team, led by Superintendent of police Pagalavan, DSP Arokyam and Inspector Ramachandran rushed to the spot and found the unexploded petrol bombs from the house. The police team have collected finger prints.” Following the petrol bomb attack in Mahesh’s house, police pickets were posted in Sathuvachari.
Meanwhile, at Sainathapuram in Vellore, a group of unknown persons tried to torch a private bus owned by Srinivasan, using petrol bombs at the same time. Following an alert from Srinivasan, the police team arrived at the spot and conducted an inquiry.
The twin attack on the Hindu Munnani leaders in Vellore town, created tension and number of office bearers gathered in Sathuvachari and Sainathapuram and staged protest demanding arrest of the culprits.
