Nadigar Sangam seeks fresh investigation

The Trust represented by its Managing Trustee, M Nasser submitted that after the elections to the South India Artistes’ Association (SISA) on October 18, 2015, the newly elected office-bearers noticed that the accounts and income tax returns of the trust and the society were not finalised for over two years.
But with queries on the same to the ex-officio Trustees — R Sharath Kumar, Radha Ravi and Vagai Chandrasekar —failing to evoke any response, a detailed audit for the period April 1, 2009 to October 18, 2015 was done. The special audit revealed several irregularities.
Naseer further submitted that based on this, a complaint was lodged with the Commissioner of Police on March 3, 2016 seeking action against the trio.
The case was handed over to the City Crime Branch. But after a bout of delay and several reminders, the CCB had sent a letter on July 2, 2016 stating that the complaint given on March 3, 2016 has been closed since a prima facie case was not made out.
The closure letter also contended that the complaint seemed to have been made with vengeance. Pointing out that the investigating police was acting in a biased manner totally devoid of facts, Nasser sought for a probe by a different agency.
