According to the passenger, a SETC service from Mannargudi to Chennai (TN 68 N 0565) was stopped at Vikaravandi for tiffin break. All the passengers, except a pregnant woman, a 15-year-old girl and another woman with a toddler, returned to the bus after finishing food.

When Jeeva, the passenger who gave the voice note that went viral, alerted the conductor, the latter did not bother to wait for them even as the luggage of the missing passengers was on board. The conductor had also allegedly abused Jeeva and tried to assault him.

“The incident happened on September 13. The conductor and driver did not wait for these passengers to return and resumed their journey after 10 minutes,” Jeeva alleged in his message and added that the luggage of the ‘missing’ passengers were still on board.

“I don’t know who those three passengers are. But when I noticed that they have not returned, I alerted the conductor. But, he replied that their break time is only 10 minutes,” Jeeva claimed.

When Jeeva insisted that they should stop the vehicle and check for the women passengers, the conductor pulled him by collar and abused him, he said.

Jeeva has shared the photograph of the conductor and the bus number along with his voice note on WhatsApp. “We do not know what happened to those women passengers, who were dropped off at a remote place in the middle of the night,” he concluded.
