30-year-old man held on bigamy charge
The Anna Nagar all-women police arrested a man for bigamy. The police said M Murugan (30), a resident of Tiruveedhiyamman Koil Street, Arumbakkam, eloped with his wife’ sister and had been living with her for the duration of a year.

Murugan’s wife M Sargunam (27) filed a complaint with the police alleging that he had disappeared along with her sister Sasi (24). The police conducted a search for Murugan and after they were able to track his location, arrested him. The police said Murugan had been working as a sales representative at a private company and he had been living with Sasi for the last one year. The couple also had a child recently, police said.
Hoax bomb threat to city school triggers panic
A hoax bomb threat created moments of panic at St Joseph’s Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Erukanchery Main Road, Kodungaiyur afternoon, after a crank caller dialled up the school principal and informed him that bombs had been planted on the school premises. The school principal Antony received the call around 12.30 pm and the caller informed him that the bombs would explode in some time. Antony passed the information to the Kodungaiyur police. The school declared a leave for the students and sent all of them home. A police team along with the bomb detection and disposal squad came to the spot and conducted a detailed examination of the school premises. They later declared the call a hoax and have launched an investigation to identify the crank caller.
