    Unidentified robbers struck at two places in the city and decamped with 45 sovereigns of gold, silver and cash.

    At Saidapet, Fhulla Deepam (57), who lives in a Tamil Nadu Housing Board building in Saidapet works as a teacher in a government school in Pallikaranai. When she came back from work on Monday by 9 pm she found her front door open and 40 sovereigns of gold missing from the almirah, along with Rs 5000 cash. She lodged a complaint with the police that on her way back from home she had received a phone call from her neighbour asking why her main door was open. She came home to see that her gold and cash was missing. The Saidapet police arrived at the spot and conducted inquiries and registered a case.

    At Moulivakkam 

    In a separate incident, Ramaraju (38), a resident of Moulivakkam lodged a complaint with the police that around five sovereigns of gold and 100 gms of silver had gone missing, after unknown persons broke into his house. An employee of Larsen & Toubro infotech company, Ramaraju told the police that he had left with his family to his native place in Andhra Pradesh on October 29.  The family returned on 14 November to find the main door lock had been broken and the valuables missing.
