3 die after two-wheeler hits parapet
Three students from a private Agriculture college died on the spot when they lost control of the two-wheeler in which they were travelling. The vehicle hit the parapet of a bridge at Thuraiyur, in the outskirts of Tiruchy, in the wee hours on November 16.

Sources said, M Naveen (19), of Pommidi in Dharmapuri, studying in second year BSc Agriculture at Imayam Institue of Agriculture and Technology and staying in the college hostel, accidentally injured himself on the head at 11 pm on Tuesday.
After seeking permission from the warden, his classmates A Gowtham (19) of Thoppur in Dharmapuri, G Rohit (19) of Palayapalayam in Dharmapuri took him to a hospital on a motor cycle. After treating him in a private hospital in Thuraiyur, the trio were returning to the hostel at around 12.30 am on Wednesday. When they reached the bridge at Kothampatti, they lost control of the bike and hit the parapet wall of the bridge. All three died on the spot. Thuraiyur police sent the bodies to Tiruchy GH. Meanwhile students from the college charged that the hostel warden should not have sent them to a hospital by a two-wheeler in the middle of the night. However, when contacted, the hostel authorities said, the students were offered vehicle facility but they left before it arrived.
