Traffic cops nab bag snatcher after chase

Police sources said that the victim Aparna (39) of Kaliyapuram near Teynampet was returning home from the airport along with her family in an autorickshaw. When the vehicle crossed Radhakrishnan Salai, a two-wheeler rider who had been following them, suddenly snatched Aparna’s bag along with a mobile phone and tried to escape from the spot. 

Hearing her cries for help, Mylapore traffic police, who were engaged in a regular vehicle check, chased the snatcher and caught him. The youth was identified as Vignesh of Chintadripet. Police have registered a case and the accused was remanded in judicial custody.
